Introduction

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, established in 1978, is a private, independent grantmaking institution dedicated to helping groups and individuals to improve the human condition. The grants are commonly referred to as "genius grants."

At left is a list of UCLA faculty members who have received MacArthur grants. To find out more about a particular grant recipient, click on the individual's name.

UCLA's MacArthur grant recipients come from a wide range of academic disciplines: social sciences, physical sciences and humanities.
