Rajit Gadh

Professor of Engineering

Some great ideas actually cause the light bulb to go off.

Engineering professor, inventor and technological revolutionary, Rajit Gadh is changing the way we consume energy. He developed new technology that enables appliances to wirelessly communicate with the power grid— turning them off during peak times, decreasing energy costs and increasing sustainability. Gadh is also applying this wireless technology to create-large scale charging stations that would make everyone driving an electric car a reality. He's engaged with the U.S. Department of Energy and the Korea Institute of Energy Research to bring the technology to market, which will revolutionize how entire nations consume energy.

Gadh is also the director and founder of the Wireless Internet for Mobile Enterprise Consortium (WINMEC)—a university, industry and government collaboration aimed to advance technological research. It's sponsored by industry leaders like Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, Sprint and Verizon Wireless.
